Computers, Photocopiers and Fax. We have computers and printers available to the community. There is no charge for using the computer. There is a small hourly fee for Internet and email usage. Charge for any printing and or photocopying is 20 cents per page. The fax machine is available to community members for $2.00 per page.
Medicare Self Help Booth--a booth with telephone and Medicare resources is available for use by community members to submit their Medicare claims. Open
9am to 4.00pm Monday to Friday.
Centrelink Self Help Access Centre--a booth is available for Centrelink customers to make contact with Centrelink Call Centres by phone, and to make contact with the local Mossman Centrelink Office by fax. Centrelink customers are able to fax their Newstart and other Centrelink forms directly to Centrelink. Open
9am to 4.00pm Monday to Friday.
Emergency Financial Assistance -available Monday, Wednesday & Friday mornings only.
Book Exchange--the Centre has a fairly extensive book exchange available to community members for no charge. The Exchange works on a swap for swap arrangement.
Resource Library--the Centre has a comprehensive resource library available to the community for no charge. Books and resources are available on topics such as, Women's health, Men's health, parenting, mental illness, grief and loss etc. For visitors who do not have local i.d. a deposit is requested, which is refunded upon return of the book.
Notice Boards--We have many notice boards around the Neighbourhood Centre displaying notices of interest to the community. Community members are able to put up their own notices.
Room Hire - The Neighbourhood
Centre can accommodate medium to larger groups wishing to hire rooms for
meetings, exhibitions, training etc or small offices for occasional use.
Facilities: audio & visual equipment, whiteboards, bathroom/toilet, fully
equipped kitchen and wheelchair access & facilities for people with disabilities. Please phone Mandy on 4099 5518 for rates and availability.
ALCOHOLICS ANONYMOUS Meets every Wednesday evening from 7.30pm at the Port Douglas Neighbourhood Centre at Mowbray Street, Port Douglas.
